Now here’s an ancestor that many people might NOT wish to have hanging from their family tree. But me... hey, call me sentimental, but I really dig her.

After so many years the real facts may be diluted (distorted) a little, altho there are court records existing from her trial (which I do not think she even attended).

Her name was Countess Erzsebet Bathori (also known as Elizabeth Bathory) I don’t need to go into any great detail on her story here as its covered so much better elsewhere -- like the ELIZABETH BATHORY website (www.bathory.org).

She has been fairly maligned in print and as the subject of several horror films like COUNTESS DRACULA, WEREWOLF SHADOW and in RETURN OF THE WOLF MAN she was down right branded a monster.

After seeing her mistreatment at the claws of Paul Naschy's werewolf in two movies I decided to resurrect Erzsebet in my own Paul Naschy film, TOMB OF THE WEREWOLF (2004), and let her get her revenge once and for all.

Take a moment as browse our on-line photo gallery. But be warned, it's intended to mature audiences!
